About PPG Social

Digital logbook for flights, equipment, and maintenance

Built by a pilot who got tired of spreadsheets. PPG Social tracks your paramotor and ultralight flights, manages equipment, monitors maintenance schedules, and analyzes your flight data. It's like having a co-pilot who never forgets to log anything—and doesn't add weight.

Who Built This?

I'm Mark, a paramotor pilot passionate about cross country flying with friends (hence the "social" part). When I'm not coding this app or editing videos, I'm out flying and posting videos on YouTube. If you're into XC flights, check it out—it's updated frequently.

What It Does

  • Flight Logging: Manual entry or import from Gaggle and SkyDemon (because who has time to manually enter 200 fields?)
  • Equipment Management: Track your wings, motors, and all the gear you swore you'd "just quickly clean" after your last flight
  • Maintenance Tracking: Get reminded when your wing needs servicing or your motor parts need replacing (before they remind you mid-flight)
  • Flight Analytics: Launch success rates, flight stats, and proof you've been flying more in reverse than you thought
  • Interactive Maps: View your flight paths and pretend you meant to fly that pattern

Why It Exists

Remembering if your wing was last serviced 147 or 153 hours ago shouldn't require a spreadsheet, three notebooks, and a prayer. Also, insurance companies seem to like detailed logbooks.

The Tech Stack

Svelte 5, SvelteKit, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, DaisyUI, and a SQL Server database that actually remembers your flights, hosted on Microsoft Azure.

Important

PPG Social is a logging tool. It won't make you a better pilot, teach you weather theory, or stop you from launching in 20kt winds. Always fly within your limits, check weather conditions, follow maintenance schedules, and remember: the app can't pack your reserve for you. Blue skies!
